Raja Ampat

Raja Ampat is a regency in West Papua, Indonesia that is also known as the paradise for underwater enthusiasts. It comprises four major islands: Batanta, Salawati, Waigeo, and Misool surrounded by more than 1,500 small islands.

This massive area is home to more than 1,000 types of coralfish and 700 kinds of mollusks, making it the perfect spot for divers. Aside from its underwater wonders, Raja Ampat also owns various kinds of rare birds in its lush jungles. Waigeou cuscus (Spilocuscus papuensis), an endemic species of the marsupial family can also be found here.

To reach Raja Ampat, you can take a flight from Jakarta or Makassar to Sorong. From Sorong, you can catch a flight with a small plane to Waisai or take a ferry from the port of Sorong to Raja Ampat. Meanwhile, you can explore its beauty with a luxury boat.
